The Paediatric Assessment Unit (PAU), provides a 'same day' assessment and treatment service for paediatric patients self-presenting at the Emergency Department (ED) or referred by their General Practitioner (GP), Midwife, Public Health or Plunket Nurse. 

Following assessment the child is either admitted or discharged.
 
The Unit is located on the 1st floor of the Children's Pavilion and is open 12 hours per day, seven days a week.
