We are committed to helping you - our programme has been extensively revamped, more resources have been dedicated to running it and the programme has become part of our new Otago District Health Board Knowledge Centre.

The revamp has boosted the support we offer you through the Nursing Entry to Practice Programme and Nursing Entry to Practice Expansion - from buddying-up with a preceptor to Charge Nurse Managers and Clinical Nurse Educator involvement in your professional development.  Our Nursing Entry to Practice Programme and Nursing Entry to Practice Expansion Coordinator is also readily accessible.

Revamping also meant our programme gained Nursing Council of New Zealand approval in 2006, showing we have a focused approach which meets national standards - including continuous improvement processes.

Our aim is to provide you with a safe, supportive and stimulating environment to help ease your transition from student nurse to registered nurse. We are keen to help you develop your skills through practical experience and regular study days.

We recognise you represent the future of the nursing profession and are committed to providing you with an environment which role-models excellence in nursing practice, support and professionalism.
